What 33 Bowling Green Google Maps Listings Show About HVAC, Plumbing, and Roofing (2026 Study)

In September 2026, we reviewed the top Google Maps results for HVAC, plumbing, and roofing searches in Bowling Green, KY. The short version: HVAC is crowded with heavily reviewed companies, while plumbing and roofing still have real openings for businesses willing to earn reviews and build better websites.

How did we run this study?
We searched Google Maps on September 29, 2026 for “hvac contractor Bowling Green, KY,” “plumber Bowling Green, KY,” and “roofing contractor Bowling Green, KY.” We recorded the rating, review count, website link, and 24-hour status for each business in the first set of results, removing duplicates and non-contractors like big-box stores.
Important limits:
- It’s a snapshot. Google Maps results change daily and depend on where the searcher is.
- We searched remotely, not from a Bowling Green location, so a homeowner in town may see a different order.
- We report patterns, not rankings. This study doesn’t say any business is better than another.
What did we find? Key numbers at a glance
| Trade | Listings reviewed | Median reviews | Listings under 100 reviews | Average rating | Listed as open 24 hours | Without a website link |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HVAC | 11 | 492 | 2 | 4.87 | 11 of 11 | 0 |
| Plumbing | 12 | 91 | 6 | 4.76 | 6 of 12 | 2 |
| Roofing | 10 | 70 | 6 | 4.79 | 3 of 10 | 1 |
Why is HVAC the hardest Google Maps market in Bowling Green?
HVAC is the hardest because the leading Bowling Green HVAC listings have hundreds of reviews each, a median of about 490, and every listing we saw was marked open 24 hours. A newer HVAC company can’t close that review gap quickly, so it should compete through specific service pages, organic search, and fast response rather than Maps alone.
What this means for a smaller HVAC company:
- Don’t try to win “HVAC near me” first. Target specific jobs like heat pump repair or furnace replacement with dedicated pages.
- Earn reviews steadily, but plan on organic search to carry you while the review count grows.
- Compete on response. When every competitor claims 24/7, answering fast is what actually wins the call.

Where are the openings in Bowling Green plumbing?
Plumbing has clear openings: half of the plumbing listings we reviewed had fewer than 100 reviews, only half were marked open 24 hours, and two had no website link at all. A plumber who earns steady reviews, keeps accurate hours, and has a real website with service pages can stand out quickly.
- Six of 12 listings had under 100 reviews.
- Six of 12 were not listed as open 24 hours, which leaves room for a plumber who truly answers emergencies at night.
- Two listings had no website link, which limits how Google and homeowners can learn about them.

How competitive is roofing on Google Maps in Bowling Green?
Roofing is the most open of the three trades: the median roofing listing had about 70 reviews, and six of 10 had fewer than 100. Only a few roofers had several hundred reviews. For a roofer with good work and happy customers, a consistent review habit can move them into the top group faster than in HVAC.
- Median reviews: about 70. The top roofer we saw had several hundred.
- Several highly rated roofers (5.0 stars) had fewer than 50 reviews, so strong ratings with low volume are common.
- Map results mix in other businesses, like home improvement stores, for roofing searches.

Why do multi-trade companies show up so often?
Several Bowling Green companies that offer HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services appeared in both the HVAC and plumbing results. Offering related services and listing them clearly on a Google Business Profile and website helps one company show up for several trade searches, which gives them more chances to win calls.
For single-trade companies, the answer isn’t to add fake services. It’s to go deeper on the services you do offer, with a page for each job type.
What should a Bowling Green home-service business do with this?
Use the numbers to set realistic goals. In HVAC, compete through specific service pages and organic search while you build reviews. In plumbing and roofing, a steady review system plus a real website with job-specific pages can move you toward the top group within months, not years.
- Check where you stand. Compare your review count with the medians above.
- Fix your basics: accurate category, hours you actually keep, and a website link.
- Build one page per core service so you can rank beyond the Map Pack.
